Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Aided Unhoused Mother’s in Celebration of Mothers Day
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated and memorialized unhoused mothers on Mother’s Day. The Archewell Foundation donated a plethora of essential products to the Harvest Home organization in Los Angeles, California.
Mother’s Day is one of the largest holidays celebrated in the United States. Behind the Winter holidays, celebrating mothers happens to be the second-largest holiday. One of the biggest misconceptions is that all mothers are celebrated. Many mothers are not given opportunities as those in a typical traditional family setting.
In reality, there are not many shelters that tailor needs to single, homeless, unhoused, and pregnant women. Harvest Home in Los Angeles, California, is an organization that provides goods and services to women and children.
The Duke and Ducchess of Sussex shocked the LA organization this Mother’s Day. Pairing with P&G, The Archewell Foundation wanted to give back to the growing community. The family donated diapers, cleaning supplies as well as essential supplies.
In addition, the foundations iterated the importance of mother’s being recognized all year. To tell her story, Markle wrote an endearing letter to the company. She mentioned why women should be feeling safe and secure during and after pregnancy.
Markle’s letter to Harvest Home stated, “As a mom, and an expectant mom, I deeply appreciate the significance of community support, safe and accessible pregnancy resources, and trusted guidance in a nurturing setting. These ingredients are essential to not just our physical health, but our mental well-being, and I commend you for leading a compassionate community that lives these values.”

“Thank you for all you do for the women and mothers who are turned away elsewhere, at no fault of their own. When we consider how vulnerable any mother feels during the fragile time of pregnancy, we gain perspective about how especially difficult it can be for pregnant women of color and those who come from under-resourced and vulnerable communities. I hope you will accept an offer of support to help further uplift Harvest Home’s residents,” Markle continued.
Not to mention, The Archewell Foundation fulfilled Harvest Home’s wishlist. They are still accepting donations. Check out the Harvest Home website here.
