Jonas Brothers Compete With the Best Of the Best In New ‘Olympic Dreams’ Special

Maarten De Boer / NBC

The Jonas Brothers are known for releasing smash hits and competing for number one spots on the charts, but this time they’re putting their athletic ability to the test in a different kind of competition.

Joe, Kevin, and Nick are ready to see if they have what it takes to compete as Olympic-level athletes in the NBC special “Olympic Dreams Featuring the Jonas Brothers.”

There is one catch to this special; instead of competing against Olympic athletes, the band of brothers will be trained by Team USA’s top athletes to compete against one another.

In the one-hour special, viewers at home will get to see the Sucker singers train and compete in different events. The special will air on July 21, two days before the Tokyo Olympics that will start on July 23.

According to an NBC news release,

“For millennia, the Olympic Games have been the preeminent sporting competition and the ultimate test of athleticism… Only the world’s best-ever have a chance to compete. For three brothers raised in Wycoff, N.J., becoming Olympians was a dream established at an early age. And it was only sidelined by another lofty goal — pop superstardom. Now, after more than a decade as one of music’s biggest names, the Jonas Brothers are ready to prove they have what it takes to compete at an Olympic Level.”

News broke on Sunday, May 16, that Nick Jonas was injured and hospitalized on the set of a secret project. There is no word if this led to his injury; however, he returned to The Voice Monday night and explained that although he injured his ribs and acquired some bumps and bruises, he is still ready to work. Follow the trio of brothers on Instagram for more updates.

NBC will air Olympic Dreams on July 21 at 8:00 pm.
