On a recent episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show” the actor, now talk show host, discussed working with Woody Allen on the 1996 film “Everyone Says I Love You”. Her guest in this episode was Dylan Farrow, daughter of the disgraced director. Dylan Farrow has accused Allen of sexually abusing her during her childhood. Allen is also accused of sexually abusing his adopted daughter to whom he is now married.

Dylan Farrow’s accusations and experiences are the subject of the recently released HBO documentary “Allen v. Farrow” Allen vehemently denies these claims.

Right off the bat Barrymore addresses working with Allen back in 1996 stating, “This is not about me, but I wanted to have this type of candor. I worked with Woody Allen.” Barrymore made it clear that having children completely shifted her mindset she, “realized that I was one of the people who was basically gaslit into not looking at a narrative beyond what I was being told.”

She commended Farrow for making a “brave choice” saying that it was changing the industry. Farrow responded, “I’m trying not to cry right now. It is just so meaningful… I find it incredibly brave and incredibly generous that you would say to me that my story and what I went through was important enough to you to reconsider that”

Farrow also went on to discuss how hard it was to make the film. She was shocked that a number of her family members agreed to contribute. Her brother Ronan Farrow and her mother Mia Farrow were interviewed in the documentary.
