‘Gilmore Girls’ Alum Kelly Bishop to Guest Star on ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’
Gilmore Girls alum Kelly Bishop has joined the cast of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel from writer Amy Sherman-Palladino. Bishop will once again work closely with Palladino on the hit Amazon Prime series.
“I would work with Amy under any circumstances. But right now, [she] has The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel which blew the lid off of everything,” Bishop stated on People TV’s Couch Surfing last fall. “I should show her something from Private Parts because I don’t think Amy sees me as a New York Jew. I should send her that tape.”
Well, it looks like Bishop got the attention of her friend and longtime colleague. After playing matriarch Emily Gilmore on Gilmore Girls and in the recent reboot, as well as starring in ABC Family’s Bunheads (all created by Palladino), the Tony-award-winning actress is gearing up for her next role.

With the recent news of Milo Ventimiglia also signing on to season four of the beloved series, it looks like the latest season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is turning out to be a mini Gilmore Girls reunion.
Bishop and Ventimiglia are not the only Stars Hollow residents to appear on the show. Alex Borstein, Liza Weil, Brian Tarantina, and Emily Bergl have all guest-starred on the Emmy-winning show in the past.

Season four of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is in production, and we’re starting to get photos and footage from the set. The season picks up shortly after everyone’s favorite stand-up comedian Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) gets dropped from her opening act on tour.
“I mean, what the fun of totally destroying someone’s soul and heart and not getting to see the aftermath?” That’s what comedy’s made of, soul-crushing defeat,” Palladino recently told The Hollywood Reporter.

A premiere date for season four of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has not yet been set. But in the meantime, catch up on previous seasons of the comedy-drama on Amazon Prime.
