BTS Makes Outstanding Runway Debut for Louis Vuitton F/W21 Show
Anticipation for the Louis Vuitton Men’s Fall/Winter 2021 show ran high once international sensation BTS was announced to be taking part in the show.
High-profile brand deals are nothing new for the group; Hyundai, Samsung, and Mcdonald’s among the most notable, and this luxury sponsorship was a long-time coming.
The band has been quoted to deny luxury brand deals in the past as they often require the artists not to be styled in the competition.
Fans noted that the members continue to style themselves in their trademark brands; Jimin’s frequent inclusions of Chanel in his wardrobe still present well after the global ambassador announcement in April.
The global icons modeled pieces from Virgil Abloh’s latest collection on July 7 in a fashion film presentation directed by South Korean filmmaker Jeon Go-woon.
According to Teen Vogue, Abloh shared that his inspiration for the collection originated from the idea of “challenging preconceived notions and reimagining established codes.” The show is a continuation of the designer’s 2020 project titled The Voyage, a traveling fashion show to key locations for the Louis Vuitton community.

The 2021 collection contains multiple traveling-related motifs such as airplane buttons on coats and luggage bags as standout accessories.
The septet made their way across the Bucheon’s Art Bunker B39 with looks that could kill, each unique outfit being highlighted amongst the eerie ambiance.

Jimin started the show adorned in gold sport sunglasses, washed over in red lighting and a blaring alarm. He stares out onto the bunker, soon making eye contact with RM on the ground floor in an oversized suit, matching hat, and a silver briefcase.
The rapper then found his way to Suga in a black suit plus white and green sneakers, a sash to draw the royal look together. The film shifted to J-hope wearing a suit that encapsulates the voyager theme, a map of the world sewn into the fabric. Both Jungkook and V wore black suits, V catching eyes in a statement red vest.
The show closed out with lead visual Jin in a red and black checkered suit, the lights shutting off one by one after a final review of the models and their stylings.
This is not the first time the Bangtan boys have been highly regarded for their capabilities in the fashion scene, being mentioned among fashion moguls in Vanity Fair’s 2019 Best Dressed List.
This major project will surely not be the last for the group cementing their status in the high-fashion scene.
