The original Haunted Mansion was a horror-comedy for the whole family. According to The Hollywood Reporter, there will be no connection to the original film starring Eddie Murphy.

Disney’s classic 1969 theme park ride serves as inspiration for the new take on the tale. It follows a family who recently moved into a mansion of the same name, discovering that the estate has all sorts of spooky creatures and mysterious events.

According to DeadlineAladdin’s live-action producer Jonathan Eirich will act as producer alongside Dan Lin. In addition, Justin Simien (Dear White People) will serve as director with Katie Dippold as a screenwriter.
