‘Friends’ Cast Model New Merch Line for Good Cause
On Monday, August 2, the cast of the beloved television series Friends came together to unveil one of three iconic Friends merchandise drops. The exclusive pieces will first be focused on classic jokes and liners from Seasons 1-3, followed by 4-6, and lastly, Seasons 7-10.
Jennifer Aniston, who portrayed Rachel Green on the sitcom, started her post with the caption, “For the record… we were SO not on a break.” Aniston opted for a purple Monica hoodie with a black hat in the Friends logo, which reads the same as her beginning caption. She then revealed that half the proceeds of her merch would go to Americares, who has been working hard to help those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Courteney Cox, who played Monica Geller, chose to wear the iconic fountain scene photo with the words, “We’ll Be There For You,” which pays homage to the theme song “I’ll Be There For You” by The Rembrandts. Cox will donate half the proceeds to EBMRF, a non-profit organization that strives to raise awareness and funds for Epidermolysis Bullosa, a rare and debilitating genetic skin disorder.
David Schwimmer, who played Monica’s brother, Ross Geller, wore a black t-shirt of Ross and his on-and-off-again girlfriend, Rachel Green, getting back together. Schwimmer’s proceeds will go to The Rape Foundation, which offers support to child and adult victims. The foundation also offers educational programs.
Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt LeBlanc, (Joey Tribbiani), and Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing), also took to their social media to share the iconic limited collection.
