Nicole Byer Is Set to Star in an Hourlong Netflix Comedy Special
On August 9, Nicole Byer announced that she is set to star in an hourlong Netflix comedy special. The 34-year-old comedian will be filmed for the comedy special at the Gramercy Theatre in New York.
According to Blackfilm, the hourlong comedy special will occur in person on Sept 5 and premiere on Netflix later this year. In a statement, Byer expressed, “I’m so f*cking excited to do this. I’m so grateful that Netflix is giving me a nice lil platform to have some fun tee hee hee.”
Early on Monday, Byer took to social media to post about the exciting stand-up event. The comedian wrote to her fans asking if they can believe this great opportunity is occurring, and after, Byer added in all caps, “I CAN’T!”

Byer is an American comedian, actress, television host, podcaster, and author. The talented comedian is best known for hosting the Netflix television series Nailed it!. On Netflix, the description of the show reads, “Home bakers with a terrible track record take a crack at re-creating edible masterpieces for a $10,000 prize. It’s part reality contest, part hot mess.”

In 2020, Byer was nominated for an Emmy in the category “Outstanding Host for A Reality or Competition Program” and made history by becoming the first Black woman ever to be nominated in the category.
