Netflix’s New Series ‘The Chair’ Features Drama, Excitement, and Surprises

The show is part rom-com and one part wry campus satire, and a six-part drama series. It is based on the college setting at Fictional Pembroke University, where the English department is in a crisis because the majority of the professors are 70 and are unwilling to try and connect with passionate Gen Z students in their progressive activities.
It stars Sandra Oh, the protagonist Ji-Yoon Kim, as the first Asian American Woman anointed to head the English department at Pembroke University, often enough shedding light on Asian Americans.
The first scene begins with Ji-Yoon Kim sitting in her office chair and falling apart consistently. As the story unfolds, situation after situation occurs that Ji-Yoon Kim has to deal with. After every solution, there comes a problem arising her way. Throughout the series, a majority of misfit professors Ji-Yoon Kim have to deal with receiving all of the blame for their actions. Additionally, she finds it extremely difficult to balance her work life and personal life as a single mother; however, she is relentless in trying to figure out life.
The show serves as a place where movements begin, and students explore new opinions and beliefs on new ideas. It is full of new journies, exciting situations, solutions, politics, romance, and surprises.
