Avril Lavigne Looks Pretty in Pink at VMAs

Avril Lavigne made a showstopping fashion statement after more than 18 years away from the MTV Video Music Awards. The singer’s last appearance had been in 2003.

Avril Lavigne had been one of the best-dressed singers of the night, wowing audiences with her hot pink plaid suit that was cropped out, revealing a sparkly crystal bra with a matching handbag. The suit had been a piece from Area, and her handbag is courtesy of Jimmy Choo.

Area Fashion had been founded in 2014 by designers Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Pansczczyk in downtown New York City. The “Complicated” singer did not perform at the VMAs, but she was one of the many A-list presenters of the night. She presented Billie Eilish with the ‘Video for Good’ award, where she was thrilled for the young artist on a well-deserved win.

Lavigne also brought a very special guest with her to the red carpet: her musician boyfriend Mod Sun. He wore an all-black patchwork suit and donned neon green hair. The pair were easily the most eclectic and fashionable couple of the night.
