Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took the streets of New York City in style on Thursday, where a weekend of official duties lies ahead. This marked the first public trip the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have taken since moving to California. It’s unclear if the couple’s newborn daughter, Lilibet, or son Archie embarked on the trip with them.

The two began the day with a visit to the One World Trade Center and the 9/11 memorial. Markle sported an all-black look with a sweat, trousers, and a matching overcoat. Meanwhile, Harry wore a simple suit to meet with NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio and his family.

On September 25, the Duke and Duchess will make an appearance at Global Citizen Live. The charity event is being held in Central Park and features a live broadcast urging countries around the world to distribute COVID-19 vaccinations to nations in need. Coldplay, Jennifer Lopez, and Lizzo are all expected to perform at Saturday’s event.

Both Meghan and Harry are avid advocates in the fight for universal vaccination. In May of this year, they served as co-chairs for “Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World.”

“We can’t leave anybody behind. We will all benefit, we will all be safer, when everyone, everywhere has equal access to the vaccine,” Harry shared in a speech at Vax Live. “We must pursue equitable vaccine distribution and, in that, restore faith in our common humanity. The mission couldn’t be more critical or important.”

The Royal Family has a long history of visiting NYC on official tours. But due to the Duke and Duchess’ public exit in 2019, the Palace has yet to comment on the trip.

Either way, we are sure to read about the couple’s ventures in the Big Apple over the coming days. Be sure to follow along with #MeghanAndHarry on Twitter for updates.
