Netflix’s New Suspense Thriller, ‘The Guilty’ Will Be Dropping This Friday

Starring Jake Gyllenhall, The Guilty is bound to take you on a suspenseful thrill that will keep your eyes glued to the screen. This edge-of-your-seat thriller tells a story about a 9-1-1 operator who has just hours to save a woman’s life.

The story revolves around Joe Bayler (Gyllenhal), a troubled detective who gets demoted to 911 operator duty and finds himself overwhelmed with numerous non-emergency calls. He eventually gets a call from a woman who appears to be abducted, but she hangs up before he can get any important details.

Viewers should brace themselves for unexpected twists and turns as nothing is what it seems as the story continues to unfold.

The cast joining Gyllenhall in this crime thriller includes Paul Dano (Matthew Fontenot), Riley Keough (Emily Lighton), Ethan Hawke (Sergent Bill Miller), Peter Sarsgaard (Henry Fisher), David Castaneda (Tim Geraci), and Christina Vidal Mitchell (Sergent Denise Wade).

Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by Nic Pizzolatto, The Guilty has been adapted from the 2018 Danish thriller Den Skyldige by Gustav Möller. The thriller later became a hit in Denmark and scored an Oscar submission for Best International Feature. In fact, the movie snagged the 2018 Sundance Audience Award and the Grand Jury Prize.

According to Rolling Stone, the new upcoming Netflix film was shot in just 11 days during the chaos and prolonged delays of the COVID-19 pandemic, which viewers may find quite impressive.

The Guilty will be kicking off the Halloween season on Friday, October 1, 2021. Fans make sure to tune in and stream on Netflix.
