Brandi Carlile’s wildest dreams came true on October 23: She finally became a musical guest on the iconic SNL stage. The show had been hosted by none other than SNL alum Jason Sudeikis. Carlile revealed that she would be performing live from New York back on September 22, which had been about a week shy of the release of her highly anticipated album, In These Silent Days. The singer captioned the post, “I’ve been waiting my whole life to make this announcement!” She received an abundance of love and support after such exciting news.
Carlile was certainly feeling nostalgic. The “Broken Horses” singer shared a post from 2018 from her Instagram page, telling fans an incredible story. She had been fortunate enough to perform on Late Night With Seth Meyers one day, and she accidentally stumbled upon the SNL studio while looking for a bathroom. The stage simply took her breath away, and she imagined the day she would have her “rockstar” moment. She ends the post with, “ONE DAY we’ll get there man! Dreams come true every day.” After three long years, Carlile’s dream would come true. The singer shared a throwback picture from 2018 to the present, leaving fans just as nostalgic and proud of the singer’s accomplishments.
Carlile first took the stage with the twins to perform “Broken Horses,” her country-rock anthem. In April, she also published a memoir of the same name. The singer coordinated her outfit perfectly with her mic, opting for gold. Carlile certainly went for the gold, as she radiated that powerful rockstar energy we all know and love.
For Carlile’s second song, “Right on Time,” the singer wore a stunning black and white tuxedo. “Right on Time” is incredibly emotional, and Carlile effortlessly brings the emotional depth needed for fans to feel all the emotions. She starts in a vulnerable state on the piano, but by the song’s climax, she’s rocking out again with Phil and Tim Hanseroth (The Twins).
Brandi Carlile has a voice like no other; It is truly a privilege to watch her perform. Fans can watch her outstanding performances of “Broken Horses” and “Right on Time” above.
