Bleachers Release New EP ‘Live at Electric Lady’
The indie-pop band fronted by Jack Antonoff, Bleachers, released a new EP on Thursday, November 4. Their EP is titled Live at Electric Lady.
Jack Antonoff’s band, Bleachers, has become the latest group to release an EP for Spotify’s special “Live at Electric Lady” sessions. Their EP contains nearly every track from their latest record, Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night, their third studio album released this past July. The eight-track EP has songs “45,” “Don’t Go Dark,” “How Dare You Want More,” “Big Life,” and “Strange Behavior” from their latest album.
In addition to those tracks, Antonoff enlisted the help of two musicians who made an appearance on Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night: Bruce Springsteen and St. Vincent. Springsteen accompanies Bleachers on the track, “chinatown,” and St. Vincent appears on the second to last track: “What’d I Do With All This Faith?” Both musicians have performed alongside Bleachers at Electric Lady before, and it continues to get better every time.
Spotify’s “Live at Electric Lady” sessions also contain a cover on the EP. Antonoff opted to perform his own rendition of “Drive,” a 1984 staple in The Cars’ discography. Fans are emotional over the cover, as Antonoff delivers a dreamy version.
me listening to bleachers’ cover of drive while my flight lands way too early to ask anyone i care about to pick me up from the airport, thinking “yeah that’s a great question, who IS gonna drive me home?”

Antonoff took to Instagram to share his appreciation for the iconic Electric Lady Studios. The pandemic put a lot of things into perspective for Antonoff, wondering when would be the next time he would be able to play with his band again. As a way to demonstrate the magic between Antonoff and his band’s synchronicity, all of the tracks are made in one take. In the emotional post, he writes how Electric Lady is “home.”
Bleachers have outdone themselves once again. Be sure to stream their new EP, Live at Electric Lady, on Spotify.
