Cheers, to Britney Spears’ freedom from her conservatorship. The “Toxic” singer, 39, celebrated her newfound freedom with her first glass of champagne she’s had in over a decade and is on cloud nine with happiness.

“What an amazing weekend … I felt like I was on cloud 9 the whole time ☁️ !!! I actually got my first glass of champagne 🥂 at the most beautiful restaurant I’ve ever seen last night !!!!” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m celebrating my freedom and my B day for the next two months !!!!!!!!!!!

The singer added, “I mean after 13 years … I think I’ve waited long ENOUGH !!!!”

The pop star even thanked her lawyer, Mark Rosengart, whom she appointed back in September, and her fans for helping her take her life back.

“I’m so happy my lawyer Mathew Rosengart came into my life when he did … he has truly turned my life around,” she wrote. “I’m forever thankful for that !!!!”

She continued, “What a sight seeing so many people celebrating my victory …. I love my fans so much … so thank you 🌹 !!!!⁣”

Britney finally gained her freedom from the conservatorship on Friday, November 12, where Judge Brenda Penny ruled to end it.

“The court finds and determines that the conservatorship of the person and the estate is no longer required, therefore effective today, the conservatorship of the person and estate of Britney Jean Spears is hereby terminated.”

The outcome of Britney’s conservatorship battle is one that she and her fans have hoped for. In October, her father, Jamie Spears, was suspended as her conservator after Judge Penny deemed the situation as “toxic.” Then Britney and Rosengart followed up to request Jamie’s termination. Thankfully, that’s exactly what happened.

“What’s next for Britney — and this is the first time that this could be said for about a decade — is up to one person: Britney,” said Mathew Rosengart, speaking at a news conference outside the courthouse. “I will say that Britney has been put into a position, through our collaboration and the work of my law firm, to succeed.

Rosengart added: “We have engaged in an orderly transition of power. We have a safety net in place for Britney, both on the personal side and on the financial side But Britney as of today is a free woman and she’s an independent woman. And the rest, with her support system, will be up to Britney.”

There will be no mental health evaluation for Britney. In addition, John Zabel, who is serving as a temporary accountant, will have “limited and administrative power” which is part of the termination plan. Zabel’s responsibilities include executive power of the trust and transferring funds and assets into it. Temporary conservator Jody Montgomery will continue to work with Britney, but can’t say how and why due to the conservatorship being under seal.

More hearings have been set for December 8 and January 19.
