Mariah Carey Releases New Teaser Trailer For Upcoming Christmas Special

Mariah Carey is looking glamorous in her new upcoming Christmas special, Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues. The “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer, 52, is partnering up with Apple TV+ yet again for a new holiday special.

Last year, the pop singer released a Christmas special called Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special. Singers, such as Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson, performed last year. This year, Carey will be treating fans to a new song she collaborated with Kirk Franklin and Khalid on. Called “Fall in Love at Christmas,” it is an interpretation of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” In addition, Carey will be interviewed by Apple Music’s Zane Lowe and her ten-year-old twins, son Moroccan and daughter Monroe will share their favorite memories of the holidays. Of course, Carey will be singing her beloved song, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

“All I Want for Christmas Is You” still reigns on Billboard‘s 100-position Greatest of All Time Holiday 100 Songs. During an interview with Billboard, Carey opened up about the creation of the holiday classic which debuted on her 1994 album, Merry Christmas.

“When I wrote it, I had absolutely no idea the impact the song would eventually have worldwide. How could I? It was so early on in my career and most young artists, at that time, weren’t really making Christmas music at the onset of their careers.

“When writing it, I was tapping into a bittersweet mixture of longing and festiveness,” Carey added. “I had grown up wishing I could have a functional family Christmas like the ones I saw on TV or in the movies, but truth is that never happened! So, I wrote the song for the little girl in me filled with holiday spirit.”

“The record really has brought me full circle, and I’m so full of gratitude that so many people enjoy it with me every year.”
