Second Annual Snixxmas Charity Drive in Honor of Naya Rivera Is Underway
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Naya Rivera’s Glee castmates are getting together for their second annual Snixxmas fundraiser to honor their co-star and dear friend.
Some of Rivera’s friends got together for a reading of The Night Before Snixxmas, where they announced this year’s fundraiser and asked fans to donate to keep Rivera’s Snixxmas tradition.
The fundraiser will run from December 3 to December 17 and will end with a live stream event with the cast of Glee. It will feature games, raffles, performances, and memories of Rivera.
In a statement written by Team Snixxmas, they said, “Last year, with your overwhelming support, the first Snixxmas Charity Drive raised over $117,000 for LA’s Alexandria House, all in the name of our dear friend, Naya Rivera.”

This year, Team Snixxmas wants to up the ante by setting a goal of $150,000 in Rivera’s name, once again to be donated to Alexandria House. Alexandria House is a non-profit organization that provides “safe and supportive housing for women and children in the process of moving from emergency shelter to economic stability and permanent housing.”

The Snixxmas Charity was named after Rivera’s annual holiday event. In her memoir Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, and Growing Up, Rivera mentioned that she would throw an extravagant holiday party every year, and every guest was required to bring a new toy for donation.
Rivera’s family hopes to keep their daughter’s legacy alive through the act of giving. In a message from the Rivera family, they stated, “Christmas is a time of giving — giving your love to others and spending time with friends and family. Naya did just that, while she spent her time on Earth.”
