Megan Thee Stallion Honored With Humanitarian Award
Megan Thee Stallion was honored with the 18th Congressional District Humanitarian Award on Sunday, December 12. Megan Pete aka, Megan Thee Stallion, 26, received this honor from her own district’s congresswoman, Sheila Jackson Lee for her work in the Houston community.
“This award has not been given out often, or to many,” Lee said when giving Megan her award. “That is why it remains a special part in our congressional district. The district has almost 1 million people. When this award is given, it has that special promise and special history.”
“The hero award is wrapped up in humanitarianism. It means that you have exhibited humanity and you have helped without asking,” the congresswoman added.
Megan was thrilled to receive the award. The artist dedicated the award to her grandma for helping her become the woman she is.

“It’s my responsibility to take care of the city that took care of me. My grandma always taught me to be kind and giving. I learned that from her. I was raised by very giving women. So I want to dedicate this award to my grandma because she taught me to be the woman I am today,” stated Megan.

The grammy-winning artist is on a roll. The day before being awarded, she graduated from Texas Southern University with a bachelor’s in health administration. Megan plans on using her degree to open an assisted living facility. The motivation to finish school stems from honoring her late mother.

“I want to get my degree because I really want my mom to be proud,” Megan said last year in June. “I want my big mama to be proud. She saw me going to school before she passed. My grandmother that’s still alive used to be a teacher, so she’s on my butt about finishing school. I’m doing it for me, but I’m also doing it for the women in my family who made me who I am today.”
