Katy Perry Delivers Two New Epic Performances on SNL
Katy Perry brought the Perry Playland to the iconic Saturday Night Live stage on January 29. The American Idol judge performed for the fourth time as a musical guest while actor Willem Dafoe made his hosting debut.
Katy Perry delivered a slice of her Sin City Residency over the weekend. The Grammy-nominated singer performed two songs: “When I’m Gone” and “Never Really Over.” Both songs showcased Perry’s incredible singing and stage presence. Perry teased fans with the Instagram caption, “hold on to your w.i.g.,” tagging SNL in the post.
Perry first took the iconic stage to perform “When I’m Gone.” Her performance is certainly a psychedelic trip, as the stage explodes with vibrant colors. Perry dances in a red latex shroom costume and is joined by her backup dancers, also dressed as mushrooms.
Perry’s second performance still features mushroom visuals, but she opted to perform a stripped-down version of “Never Really Over.” Perry wore a gorgeous light blue tulle gown, singing atop a giant mushroom. She elevated the look by adding crystals and colorful winged liner, a famous fashion staple seen in the hit series, Euphoria.
