Euphoria Is HBO’s Second Most-Watched Show Of All Time
Euphoria has solidified its place as a hit for HBO, taking second place behind Game of Thrones.
Euphoria paints a raw coming-of-age portrait of its protagonist, Rue Bennett, as she battles addiction while juggling her family, friendships, and relationships. The show has been both praised and criticized for its depiction of high school, specifically on issues of the sexualization of its characters and alleged glamorization of addiction. The controversial series has produced intense social media discourse, with Twitter announcing that Euphoria is the most-tweeted-about show of the decade thus far.

The show is directed and written by Sam Levinson. In addition to starring as Rue Bennett, Zendaya also serves as an executive producer on the series. The cast includes Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Jacob Elordi, Angus Cloud, and Maude Apatow.
The teen drama was renewed for a third season after surpassing viewership ratings consistently during the season’s run. HBO Max crashed ahead of the finale, “All My Life, My Heart Has Yearned for a Thing I Cannot Name.”

Zendaya opened up about the difficulties Rue faced in season 2 at Entertainment Tonight. She stated, “There’s a dark place that hits right in the middle of the season…I think it got to the point of, ‘We can’t leave her here. This can’t be the end of her story. There has to be some hope at the end of this. Something beautiful at the end of all this pain’…I think that’s what the world needs…So, if you can hold onto that, if you can bear with her through those painful moments, if you can still root for her, then maybe there is some hope at the end.”

Rue STILL owes a drug dealer 10k and the last episode really was doing up the end of a teen movie narration, I’m sick.
