A New Beetlejuice 2 Sequel Is in Early Development
Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B, has boarded Beetlejuice 2, a project that has struggled to hit the big screen for over three decades. News of the upcoming film was first confirmed via The Ankler.
It’s showtime. The sequel is currently in its earliest stages of development. Although no plot details have been divulged at this time, it has been reported that Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton will be reprising their roles as Lydia Deetz and Beetlejuice in the upcoming sequel, leaving fans speechless.

Beetlejuice, directed by Tim Burton, was released in 1988. The film centers around a deceased couple, Adam (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara Maitland (Geena Davis). The couple must learn to live as ghosts in their own home until the Deetz family moves in.
Charles Deetz (Jeffrey Jones), his wife, Delia (Catherine O’Hara), and their daughter, Lydia (Winona Ryder), decide to live in the Maitlands’ home, which understandably upsets the couple. The Maitlands choose to hire an obnoxious freelance bio-exorcist, Beetlejuice, who claimed he could “get rid” of the living. The Maitlands are completely unaware of the trouble that this will later cause.

The classic film continues to permeate pop culture. In 1989, an animated television series was created and ran for four seasons. Alyson Court portrayed Lydia, and Stephen Ouimette played the titular role.
