Selena Gomez is sick of being constantly body-shamed. The “Rare” singer created a series of TikTok stories, calling out the haters. She explained how she tries to stay healthy but still eats fast food.

“So I be trying to stay skinny, but I went to Jack in the Box and I got four tacos, three egg rolls, onion rings, and a spicy chicken sandwich,” she explained. “But honestly, I don’t care about my weight because people b*tch about it anyway: ‘You’re too small.’ ‘You’re too big.’ ‘That doesn’t fit.’ ‘Meh meh meh meh.'”

The singer concluded by stating, “B*tch, I am perfect the way I am. Moral of the story? Bye.”

Gomez has struggled with her weight for a while. In 2015, the singer/actress opened up about her battles with Lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease. For which she needed chemotherapy treatments and medication. It was in 2017 when the Only Murders in the Building star underwent a kidney transplant. A couple of years later, the Disney darling noticed the fluctuation in her weight and has battled it ever since. The actress confirmed that lupus contributes to her weight fluctuation during an interview.

“It’s a combination of all of it. It’s the medication that I have to take for the rest of my life. It depends on even the month, to be honest. So, for me, I really noticed when people started attacking me for that. And in reality, that’s just my truth. I fluctuate. It depends on what’s happening in my life….And that got to me big time, you know? I think for me, that really messed me up for a bit.”

The constant body shaming and negativity is one of the reasons why Gomez logged off of social media. However, the singer’s barrage of comments put-downs started during her Disney days.

“Being in the public eye from such an early age certainly comes with a lot of pressure. It’s hard to feel comfortable when you feel like everyone is watching, judging, and commenting on the way you look,” the Hotel Transylvania actress explained. “Self-confidence is still something I work on daily, but when I stopped trying to conform to society’s unrealistic standards of beauty, my perspective entirely shifted.”

Gomez isn’t the only one who’s endured body shaming. Fellow former Disney star Demi Lovato experienced body shaming. In addition, Bridgerton actress Nicola Coughlan and Euphoria star Barbie Ferreira were attacked for their bodies. Luckily, Gomez embraces herself and takes the comments with a grain of salt. Fans can keep up with Gomez on social media.
