Halsey is back and better than ever. The “Darling” singer delivered memorable performances at this year’s Governors Ball in New York.

Halsey was headlining the music festival on Saturday, June 11, and decided to surprise fans with an unexpected cover. The singer chose to reimagine “Running Up That Hill,” the 1985 signature song by Kate Bush. Halsey gushed about the song, writing, “truly wish I wrote this song more than anything in the world I’m soooo happy it’s having this resurgence. I knew immediately I wanted to do this.”

Bush’s song, “Running Up That Hill” appears on the “Wuthering Heights” singer’s fifth studio album, Hounds of Love. The hit song has since gained a well-deserved, new following after the highly anticipated fourth season of Stranger Things premiered.

The English singer released a statement following the shocking surprise of “Running Up That Hill” running up those charts, sitting at Number 8. After 37 years and a new generation of fans, Bush writes, “It’s all really exciting!”

In other exciting news, Halsey also performed their latest single, “So Good.” The song was released on June 9. “So Good” took a long time to release into the world after a marketing dilemma with Capitol Records.

The single pays homage to their love story with partner Alev Aydin. Halsey writes, “Alev and I first met because he was supposed to write and direct a movie about my life. we started a family and now he’s written and directed this little film about OUR life. the pangs of longing for what could be…and what became.” The couple shares a son Ender Ridley Aydin, whom they welcomed in July.
