Cassidy Hutchinson’s Explosive Testimony in the January 6 Hearings
In the most recent January 6 committee hearings, former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson testified that former President Donald Trump sought to join his supporters on Capitol Hill, knew of their weapons, and lunged at a secret service agent.
Hutchinson, who worked as the top aide to Trump’s final Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, provided dramatic firsthand testimony to the committee on June 28.
Hutchinson revealed Trump and his advisors, including Meadows, knew the violent intentions of the mob gathering on January 6. Trump and his advisors were also told that the voter-fraud claims were false and that their plot to overturn the results was illegal. In fact, many involved inquired about presidential pardons.
Trump asked for metal detectors to be removed at his “Stop the Steal” speech before the siege so that people could hold onto their guns. She quoted him stating, “Let my people in. They can march to the Capitol from here.”
“I was part of a conversation — I was in the vicinity of a conversation — where I overheard the president say something to the effect of: ‘I don’t f-ing care that they have weapons. They’re not here to hurt me,’” she stated.
Hutchinson also testified that Trump lunged at a Secret Service agent in his car in an attempt to redirect the vehicle. While it was known that Trump wanted to join the rioters, this detail displays Trump’s berserk anger.
Recalling a conversation between Meadows and White House counsel Pat Cipollone, Hutchinson told the committee that Trump refused to call off the mob in defiance of advice and approved of chants calling for former Vice President Mike Pence to be hanged.
“He doesn’t want to do anything,” Meadows stated regarding to Trump, according to Hutchinson’s testimony, after he informed the president of the violence. “You heard him, Pat, he thinks Mike deserves it. He doesn’t think they are doing anything wrong.”
After stating that there would be no more hearings until July, the House select committee investigating the Capitol Hill insurrection called a surprise hearing Tuesday for new testimony. Hutchinson previously sat for four videotaped closed-door depositions.
Former Trump Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, who preceded Meadows, tweeted, “I know her. I don’t think she is lying.”
My guess is that before this is over, we will be hearing testimony from Ornato, Engle, and Meadows.

This is explosive stuff. If Cassidy is making this up, they will need to say that. If she isn’t they will have to corroborate.
