The 2022 IHeartRadio Festival Returned With an Unforgettable New Lineup
We all know Las Vegas is hot, but nothing could top the heat from this year’s IHeartRadio Festival. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, this is the twelfth annual festival. It did not disappoint with continuous showstopping performances; check out some of the highlights from the festival and Daytime Stage.
You can’t speak about heat without mentioning Mr. 305, Pitbull himself. The international Latin artist tackled all of his hits like “Give Me Everything,” “Don’t Stop the Party,” and “Timber.” After being asked by Z100 host Elvis Duran, he performed “Fireball” as a last-minute inclusion.
Sam Smith surprised the audience with a guest appearance from Kim Petras to debut their new song, “Holy,” while performing the classics like “Latch” and “Stay With Me.” The Black Eyed Peas were all the rage in the ‘2000s, and they were the rage again at the festival, performing all of their beloved hits, including “Pump It” and everyone’s favorite club song, “Boom Boom Pow.”
Sean Diddy Combs took it back to the ‘90s with his performance of “Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems” and even dedicated his performance to the late Notorious B.I.G. and music executive Andre Harrell.
Opening up night two was none other than the Punk Princess herself, Avril Lavigne. Lavigne took fans down a 20-year journey going through all of her hits like “Girlfriend” and inevitably ending with “Sk8r Boi,” which had fans belting from the start until the last electric guitar chord.
Of course, Latto and Chloë showed up and showed out with their high-energy hits “Have Mercy” and “Big Latto Energy,” then shared a cute moment after realizing they were wearing matching body suits.
Closing out the Daytime Stage was Big Time Rush; the boyband had the crowd jumping and screaming to their nostalgic songs, including “The City Is Ours” and their breakout hit, “Boyfriend.”
The Hot Girl herself, Megan Thee Stallion, closed out the entire festival. Most of the songs she performed came from her new album, Traumatize, but she made sure to perform fan favorites like “Body” and “Thot Sh*t.” Her exceptional performance was the perfect way to turn the heat up one last time before ending the festival until next year.
If you have a case of FOMO, don’t sweat it because The CW will air a two-night special showcasing all the highlights from the 2022 IHeartRadio Festival. Be sure to check it out on October 6 and 7 at 8:00 PM, only on The CW.
