Mama Cass is most notably known for her work with The Mamas & The Papas, an American folk rock quartet formed in 1965. The members included Mama Cass, Denny Doherty, John Phillips, and Michelle Phillips. The group is behind a string of hits such as “California Dreamin’,” “Monday, Monday,” “Dedicated To The One I Love,” and other beloved classics.
The Mamas & The Papas were inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Mama Cass was posthumously inducted for her work with the band.
In addition to Cass’ work with The Mamas & The Papas, she embarked on a solo career of her own. She went on to release five albums. Her powerhouse voice is behind the songs “Dream A Little Dream Of Me,” “Make Your Own Kind Of Music,” and “It’s Getting Better.”
At Glitter, we congratulate the late “Mama” Cass Elliot on this honor. She is a defining voice of a generation whose work will continue to live on. Fans can stream her discography on all major music platforms.
