Selma Blair Makes Emotional Exit From Dancing With the Stars

Selma Blair has decided to leave season 31 of Dancing With The Stars. The Legally Blonde actress exited the competition due to health concerns.

Blair thought it was best to keep her body from taking more hits. She delivered the news in the pre-recorded package that was released live on October 17.

Blair explained how she received a series of MRIs which confirmed her body was under too much stress. She tearfully elaborated this to her partner, Sasha Farber, before telling him she could not continue.

The night was themed after the stars’ most memorable years. Blair chose 2018, the year she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, to inspire her dance. She danced the waltz to “What the World Needs Now” with Farber.

Blair’s waltz was her final dance. Her performance was judged, but her scores will not count toward the show’s leaderboard. Judges Len Goodman, Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli gave the couple tens across the board, a perfect score.

Once Blair and Farber finished, the rest of the cast erupted in tears at her heartfelt conclusion to the journey. The judges’ comments were also emotional. Len Goodman told the star, “if the others have climbed hills, you have climbed mountains.”

Farber wrote an emotional post dedicated to Blair on Instagram, along with some other cast members showing their support. Fellow Dancing With The Stars contestant, Charli D’Amelio, wrote, “I know you have worked so hard and danced your heart out every week and it has been an honor to watch you.”
