It’s no secret that the pros of Dancing With the Stars pack a punch when it comes to talent and technique, but in the show’s most recent episode, “Michael Bublé Night,” the pros proved that they’re the best in the business.

In an opening number to “Sway,” performed by Bublé himself, the female pros fired up the stage in red outfits and set the tone for the rest of the night. Choreographed by pro Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy, she mentioned that she felt pressure going back to the ballroom, but she wanted to give the dancers something that oozed Latin ballroom technique.

Choreographed by pro Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy, she mentioned that she felt pressure going back to the ballroom, but she wanted to give the dancers something that oozed Latin ballroom technique.

Chmerkovskiy stated, “The intention for this piece was to go back to those basics and show why the girls of Dancing with the Stars are the best. They’re really giving you full cha-cha technique. They look incredible.”

After a few competition pieces, judge Derek Hough stepped away from the judge’s table and back onto the ballroom floor with fiance and former troupe member Hayley Erbert, as well as all of the other professional dancers.

Bublé performed his song “Higher,” which both Hough and Erbert had a hand in the video. In the rehearsal package, Hough mentioned that he wanted to portray the feel of a lowkey speakeasy, and he did just that. Hough began the piece by placing a fedora on pro Koko Iwasaki’s leg that rested effortlessly at a 90-degree angle, and that’s when fans knew they were about to witness something beautiful.

With a combination of Argentine Tango, Paso Doble, Cha Cha, and Samba mixed with creative camera shots and lighting design; the piece was mesmerizing from start to finish; not to mention the jaw-dropping “walking on walls” back walkover from Erbert.

Afterward, social media went into a frenzy over the magic they had just witnessed. They are already predicting another Emmy nomination for the three-time winner and, of course, also begging him to choreograph this year’s tour.

While the jury is still out on that, this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Hough’s choreography this season, as he usually choreographs two numbers every year, with the second happening during the finale.

There are still a few weeks to go before the finale but until then, catch up on all the dancing you’ve missed on Disney+. Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 P.M.
