Rihanna Shares on Super Bowl Performance in New Interview
Rihanna can’t stop thinking about her upcoming performance for the Super Bowl LVII halftime show. The Sunday event has her full attention as she prepares to perform in front of millions of fans. Since announcing that she will be performing for the halftime show in September 2022, she has been gearing up to give her fans the best show possible.
“I’ve been so focused on the Super Bowl that I totally forgot that my birthday is coming up,” she stated as her birthday falls on February 20.
She continued, “I’m just like Super Bowl, Super Bowl, Super Bowl. It’s a lot of preparation. It’s a lot of moving parts and this week, this is the week that it is really being tested.” Rihanna has been focused on preparing for the halftime show, making it perfect by show time.
During a conversation with Apple Music, she stated that one of the biggest challenges in preparing for the halftime show is deciding what songs to perform. “The setlist was the biggest challenge. That was the hardest, hardest part,” she stated. “Deciding how to maximize 13 minutes but also celebrate, that’s what the show is gonna be. It’s going to be a celebration of my catalog in the best way that we could have put it together.”
“Trying to cram 17 years of work into 13 minutes” has proven to be “difficult,” she shared in an Apple Music Press Conference. Although, through all the difficulties of choosing which of her own songs to choose and perform, her greatest strength has been motherhood.
Rihanna became a new mother of a son with partner and American rapper, A$AP Rocky in 2022. She stated, “There is something that just happens where you feel like you can take on the world. You can do anything,” at the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show Press Conference.
Rihanna wants to have representation for her son. “It’s important for me to do this year. It’s important for representation. It’s important for my son to see that. ”Being on the Super Bowl stage is important for Rihanna since it’s been a long time since she was on stage.
“The Super Bowl is one of the big stages in the world, so as scary as that was because I haven’t been on stage in seven years,” she stated.
There will be diamonds in the sky at the Super Bowl XLVII in Phoenix Arizona on February 12.
