As fans anxiously await Season 2 of Yellowjackets, the series has added a talented new cast member: Florence Welch. The “My Love” singer uploaded a video of her perusing through a clothing rack of dresses she would wear on tour when a dark blue and gold Yellowjackets varsity jacket emerged. She writes, “So happy I got picked for the team this year.”

After putting on the jacket, fans can hear Welch performing her own rendition of “Just A Girl,” a ’90s staple from the Gwen Stefani-led band, No Doubt. The track appears on the band’s third studio album, Tragic Kingdom (1995).

It was a busy 2022 for Florence + the Machine. In May, the band released their fifth studio album, Dance Fever, and now they’re touring the record across multiple states.

Yellowjackets is a thriller series that premiered on November 14, 2021. The star-studded cast consists of Tawny Cypress (Heroes), Juliette Lewis (What’s Eating Gilbert Grape), Melanie Lynskey (Candy), and Christina Ricci (The Matrix Resurrections). The series is supported by Ella Purnell, Sophie Thatcher, Sammi Hanratty, Sophie Nélisse, Liv Hewson, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Courtney Eaton, and Warren Kole. Lauren Ambrose, Simone Kessell, and Elijah Wood were added to Season 2.

Yellowjackets was nominated for seven Emmys last year. Melanie Lynskey received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, and Christina Ricci landed a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

The series has gained a tremendous following, and fans are impatiently waiting for what is come. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, each actress was asked the question, “How would you finish the sentence, “Yellowjackets is really about …”? Tawny Cypress states, “Women. PTSD. Friendship.” Lynskey replies, “Trauma.” Ricci reveals, “Haunting, the way trauma haunts you. The way you can never escape. The way it twists people in different ways.” Finally, Lewis states, “Aberrant survival tactics.”

Yellowjackets Season 2 premieres on Showtime on March 24. Fans do not want to miss this upcoming season and Florence Welch’s collaboration with the team.
