Olivia Holt to Make Broadway Debut in Chicago Musical
Olivia Holt is set to debut on Broadway next month in the iconic musical Chicago.
The beloved singer and actress announced her Broadway debut in an Instagram post with the official Chicago account earlier today. Her debut is no small feat either. The star revealed that she will star as the main character, Roxie Hart in Chicago, the longest-running American musical on Broadway.
“The name on everybody’s lips is gonna be… Olivia Holt!” the post announced, to the delight of fans. Her limited 8-week run only adds to the excitement and exclusivity that comes with the show’s run.
Holt has had a following since her Disney days. Fans who have loved her since her appearances in Disney hits such as Kickin’ It and Girl Vs. Monster have expressed excitement in replies to the announcement.
But Holt is not only a Disney actress. The actress recently starred in the thrilling series Cruel Summer, which she described as an “incredible” and “wonderful” experience in a Glitter-exclusive interview. The actress also has a considerable talent for singing that should not be undermined. Less than two years ago, the singer released a pop EP entitled In My Feelings. Her discography dates back to the early 2010s when she won a Radio Disney Music award for her single “Had Me At Hello” in 2013.
Still, Broadway isn’t the only venture that she has in store. Alongside Kiernan Shipka, Holt will star in the upcoming thriller-comedy Totally Killer on Amazon. Though it doesn’t have an official release date yet, the talented cast signals an exciting film to come. So far, 2023 is gearing up to be a big year for Holt.

According to Holt, starring on Broadway has been a childhood dream, and she could not be more grateful. “I am incredibly honored to play the iconic role of Roxie Hart. And I’m tremendously grateful to the Chicago company and Broadway community as I’ve admired their work and work ethic for years,” she states in an article by People Magazine.
However, Holt is not the first celebrity to star in the show. Next month, she joins Pamela Anderson, Todrick Hall, and a plethora of other celebrities who have previously been cast. While Chicago has a history of casting famous faces, all of them have graced the stage elegantly. The familiar face will undoubtedly draw crowds as the leading lady of Chicago when she premieres.
Fans can watch Holt play the iconic murderess on stage beginning April 10, until her run ends on June 4. Audiences can book seats now on the official Chicago website.
