Miu Miu New Muses Include Ethel Cain and Emma Corrin

Mia Goth, Zaya Wade, Ethel Cain, and Emma Corrin walked this week for a star-studded Miu Miu show at Paris Fashion Week. They helped introduce the brand’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection at the iconic Palais d’ léna.

The Miu Miu Collection

The new line showcased Miu Miu’s signature contrast of neutral, muted tones with a slight touch of colors and sequin. This season was giving “librarian chic,” with most models wearing glasses, buns, and an elegant yet slightly frumpy look.

While the classic cardigans were given a sheer, chiffon-like twist, the midi skirts were given new life through the use of brightly colored sequin patches, tights, and stockings.

Miuccia Prada, the head designer, and founder played with different proportions and fabrics. Furthermore, familiar clothing pieces like knee-length skirts and hooded sweatshirts were given a subtle transformation, and layering various fabrics added a touch of complexity.

Miu Miu has a talent for creating trends, this was evident when they introduced the micro-mini that became very popular. This year, they showcased simple and classic outfits that were easy to replicate, with intentional and well-planned choreography. However, Miuccia did make the bold decision of debuting the risqué briefs with sheer tights (aka, the no-pants) look for many of her models.

The Models

As we eagerly await the verdict on whether Miu Miu’s bold style will take the fashion world by storm, let’s take a moment to appreciate the fierce and fabulous women that stole the show.

English actress, Mia Goth, known for her role as Pearl, in the movie Pearl, opened the mesmerizing Fall/Winter show. She wore a tucked-in grey sweater with white buttons over a matching top, a semi-transparent white pencil skirt with black polka dots, and black sheer tights. The look was complimented with a pair of black glossy pointed-toe slingback heels and a rectangular black leather handbag. Her makeup was kept minimal, and she had her hair pulled back into a messy ponytail.

Dwayne Wade’s daughter, Zaya, 15, made her runway debut with Miu Miu for Paris Fashion Week. Wade, walked after Goth, in a beautiful olive green wool coat, with a matching sweater and pencil skirt. The ensemble was made even more stylish with the addition of brown sling-backs and a matching leather pouch bag.

As Wade touched a milestone in her modeling career, Ethel Cain walked for Miu Miu again. This time, in a brown cardigan worn over a tweed pencil skirt, black sheer tights, and matching orange heels and bag.

And just when it couldn’t get any better, Ashley Brokaw, the casting director for Miu Miu made Emma Corrin, famously known for her role as Princess Diana, in Crown’s season 4 close the exquisite affair. Emma was seen in a simple beige sweater paired with gold embellished underwear, sheer black tights, and classy brown peep-toe heels.
