New Photos of Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix in Joker: Folie à Deux Have Emerged
Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix have continued to tease their upcoming film, Joker: Folie à Deux. The DC sequel directed by Todd Phillips has shared first-look photos of the crew filming in New York City.
After breaking the internet on Valentine’s Day with a tense photo of Gaga acting alongside Phoenix, photographs of the singer in full character have been released.
Gaga’s version of the iconic Harley Quinn finds her wearing the classic black and white harlequin pattern on a shirt underneath a red jacket. Gaga dons slicked-back blonde hair, heavy eyeliner with black lines through her eyes, and smudged red lipstick.

Gaga’s Harley Quinn is a celebrity in Gotham City. The Gotham Examiner, the film’s fictional newspaper, features Harleen Frances Quinzel’s mugshot at Arkham State Hospital plastered on the front page alongside a picture of the Joker. The headline reads, “Crazy In Love” followed by the words “Joker has a new love.”

Another intriguing image of Gaga that has received much attention is her being escorted by cops as she walks up the courthouse steps. Crowds of people line both sides as she chants “Free Joker!”

Phoenix’s role as Arthur Fleck and his alter ego, Joker, has also shared some first-look photos. The Academy Award-winning actor was walking with Phillips moments before he would film his character being taken away by Gotham City police. He wore a brown suit over a mustard yellow button-up. Many eagle-eyed fans noticed that this was the suit he wore in Los Angeles.

We are so excited for what is to come in Todd Phillips’ Joker universe. Gaga’s Harley Quinn and Phoenix’s return as Joker prove that the duo undoubtedly has something crazy good up their sleeves.
