Lana Del Rey Surprises Fans With New Reported Engagement
Billboard reported late Wednesday night that sources have confirmed Lana Del Rey’s engagement to musician Evan Winiker.
Lana Del Rey hasn’t been in a confirmed relationship since 2021 and has certainly kept her partnership with Evan Winiker low-key. Though not much is known about the details of their relationship, Billboard reported that “sources” have confirmed the existence of it.
Although they’ve remained quiet, Del Rey and Winiker have still made a few public appearances. They were spotted at the Malibu Chili Cook-Off festival in September and Harriet’s restaurant in Pioneertown earlier in March. Together, the couple has successfully avoided attention from fans and the media. However, fans have pointed out that Del Rey wore a diamond ring on her left hand during the Billboard Awards earlier this month.
The singer’s engagement is even more poignant following her cover feature with Rolling Stone. When asked about the theme of love in her music, Del Rey responded that “Some people really find themselves through their work, some people find themselves through traveling. I think my basic mode is that I learn more about myself from being with people, and so when it comes to the romantic side of things, if you’re monogamous and it’s one person you’re with, you just put a lot of importance on that.” As the singer so eloquently said in one of her first-ever viral singles, “Video Games”: “they say that the world is built for two / only worth living if somebody is loving you.”
Del Rey’s loyal fanbase has flooded her with support. After writing the darkly emotional lines “loving him was never enough” in “Ultraviolence” and “ever since my baby went away / it’s been the blackest day” in “The Blackest Day,” Del Rey was once associated primarily with heartbreak. Of course, fans are emotional to see how the artist has grown: flaunting a diamond ring, keeping a quiet and happy relationship, and assuring fans that, yes, she is “very, very happy.” While trending on Twitter, many fans express their excitement for the singer, whose discography has long been marked by romantic tragedy.

But who is Evan Winiker? W Magazine reports that he is a talent manager, a managing partner at Range Media Partners, and a musician himself. Previously, he was a bassist for the band Steel Train, which Del Rey’s big-time collaborator Jack Antonoff fronted. He first posted Del Rey in a Halloween post last October, where the singer made a blurry, low-key cameo. But for now, neither Winiker nor Del Rey have commented on the news.
As she told Harper’s Bazaar in 2015, “For someone like me – and it’s not a codependent thing – I just like having someone there. I’ve been alone, and that’s fine. But I like to come home and have someone there.” Del Rey has always emphasized the role of love and relationships in her life and art, which is especially prevalent in her most recent album, Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Boulevard. The album explores her past relationships, her growth from them, and her love for love. “Skinny dip in my mind / I’m in love, I’m in love,“ she sings on “Peppers.”
