Olivia Rodrigo Announces New Single ‘Vampire’
It has been brutal out here lately without any new music from Olivia Rodrigo. The singer that rose to star status in 2021 with her debut single “driver’s license” is back with a new single titled “vampire.”
In an impromptu Instagram post, Rodrigo captioned the single’s artwork, “my new song vampire is out june 30th! you can presave now. so excited for this ahhhhh!!!!!!! 🖤🩸💜🫀❤️”
The artwork sets a different tone than the one from her SOUR era, which featured a frustrated-looking Rodrigo sticking her tongue out with the letters “SOUR” plastered across it. This time, we see Rodrigo’s black and white side profile with lavender bandaids on her neck in an “X” formation, keeping in tune with the vampire theme.

Of course, this sent friends and fans into a frenzy because her debut era was exceptional, and since then, we’ve been longing for more music. While most excitedly commented on Rodrigo’s post, Twilight’s Taylor Lautner wants to know how she ended up with bandaids. Lautner commented, “K WHO TF BIT YOU?”
For the past few months, Rodrigo began to tease her new music, like with a letter released on the two-year anniversary of SOUR in which she stated, “I’m taking today to reflect on all the amazing things that have happened since ‘Sour’ and looking fORward 2 all the things to come.” “OR 2” means “Olivia Rodrigo 2.”
So far, the single promises to be “the sound of an artist firmly in control, imbued with a sense of maturity and a bold confidence.” This is a different direction than what fans were expecting.

When Rodrigo released SOUR, she mailed gifts to numerous celebrities, and each gift had a SOUR-themed box of Sour Patch Kids. The slogan for Sour Patch Kids is “Sour. Sweet. Gone,” which led many fans to believe that her next era would be SWEET, featuring an array of love songs.
There is no teaser for “vampire” yet, so we have to wait and see what exactly the Grammy-winning artist has up her sleeve. Olivia Rodrigo will release “vampire” on June 30; you can pre-save the single here. Until then, you can stream SOUR on all streaming platforms.
