Sam Smith Announces New Single for Barbie Soundtrack

Sam Smith has joined the star-studded cast of artists featuring on the Barbie soundtrack. Their single “Man I Am” will release on Friday, July 21.

It seems like the good news keeps rolling in for the upcoming Barbie film. Smith revealed that they will release a single for the highly anticipated film. They will be among many other top artists, such as Dua Lipa, Ice Spice, Nicki Minaj, and Billie Eilish, to add their artistry to the film of the summer.

In an Instagram post sharing the news, Smith stated that the single will be “from the perspective of Ken.”

From previews of Barbie, it seems that Ken’s character development will be a major component of the storyline.

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Ryan Gosling (Ken) jokingly lamented Ken’s lack of popularity. When speaking on his acceptance of the role, he claimed that he texted Greta Gerwig: “I shall be your Ken. For his story must be told.”
