Olivia Rodrigo has hit over 10 billion streams on Spotify with her debut album SOUR. Following Dua Lipa, she is the second female artist to achieve this.

This news of Rodrigo’s success is welcomed by fans, who are delighted that the singer has reached such heights. Though Olivia isn’t the first female artist to reach 10 billion streams, her album SOUR is the fastest.

There are others who are baffled that their favorite artists did not succeed in achieving this goal. The announcement has led to comparisons between Rodrigo and other female artists.

Though SOUR only included 11 tracks, each single was a hit. According to fans, Rodrigo reached this achievement “organically.” The number of streams on the album showcases the artist’s talent and versatility.

Billboard has recently announced that Rodrigo’s single “Vampire” debuted #1 on the Hot 100. She replied to the announcement on Twitter, grateful for the fans who made this achievement possible.

“THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU AHHHHHHH,” Olivia Rodrigo replied on the platform. Her fans congratulated her and expressed gratitude for her music. Supporters are eager for GUTS to achieve the same success.

Despite these huge achievements being made, others can’t help but to hold hate for Rodrigo. One user replied to the tweet with “Joshua Basset made your career.” Fans responded viciously, defending the artist’s talent and merit.

SOUR was an album that featured a wave of emotions. Heartbreak and loneliness were just a few of the feelings Rodrigo explored in her tracks. The album also served as a creative outlet for expression.

When asked what the inspiration was for SOUR, Olivia Rodrigo revealed how meaningful the album is to her. “Nobody understood how I was feeling or related to it, so I think by writing songs about exactly how I felt I was creating like a friend for me,” Rodrigo stated, according to The Tufts Daily.

In a short amount of time, Rodrigo’s songs are reaching heights that no one would ever have predicted. We are beyond excited about her upcoming album GUTS and confident that it will be a success, breaking even more records.
