New The Changeling Trailer Guarantees a Chilling Horror Series
The newest trailer for The Changeling, starring LaKeith Stanfield, promises plenty of terrifying visuals in the upcoming Apple TV+ series.
The series is based off of Victor LaValle’s novel of the same name, and Kelly Marcel adapted the book for the screen. Stanfield is also serving as executive producer for the series. Apple TV+ will release the first three episodes of the series on September 8, and follow-up the premiere with weekly episodes through October 13.
Grammy-winning director Melina Matsoukas directs the first episode of the latest series. Matsoukas won the Grammy for Best Music Video for Beyoncé’s Formation music video in 2017, and has also directed episodes of Issa Rae’s Insecure series. Apple Studios and Annapurna Pictures are producing The Changeling. Megan Ellison, Patrick Chu and Ali Krug are the executive producers representing Annapurna.
Additionally, the series stars Clark Backo, Adina Porter, Jared Abrahamson, Alexis Louder, Malcolm Barrett and Samuel T. Herring.
The Changeling is not your average horror series with gratuitous gore or startling jump-scares around every corner. Instead, the series transports viewers to an entirely new world. Well, at least a different version of our world.
This fairy tale begins in a library in Queens.

The story follows Apollo (Stanfield), a father who is determined to give his son a better life than the one his father gave him. When Apollo’s father left him, he abandoned his son with a box of books and strange recurring dreams. As Apollo and his wife Emma (Backo) begin to adjust to their responsibilities as new parents, Apollo’s dreams reappear and Emma starts to act strangely. Initially, it seems that Emma is experiencing postpartum depression. Before Apollo can help her, Emma vanishes after committing an unspeakable act. Apollo then embarks on a dangerous journey through a mysterious world to rescue his wife and child.
Bloody Disgusting calls The Changeling “a fairytale for grown-ups.” At its core, the series is about parenthood and the unbreakable bond between loved ones. Catch the series on September 8 on Apple TV+, and watch the latest trailer below.
