Well known for her work on screen (Mean Girls; The Notebook; Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret.) Rachel McAdams is now making her way to the stage. Amy Herzog (4000 Miles, The Great God Plan) wrote this play to tell the story of “a single mom raising a child battling a difficult illness and the community of women around her that become a makeshift family.”

Lynne Meadow, director of the Manhattan Theater Club, welcomed McAdams with open arms. “I’m thrilled and very proud to be bringing this moving and heroic story of human experience by one of our great American playwrights to a Broadway stage following its acclaimed run off-Broadway in 2017, which was also directed by the brilliant Anne Kauffman. I’m equally pleased and honored to give Rachel McAdams her Broadway debut after audiences have enjoyed her many renowned performances on film. As a great fan of all three of these fabulous artists, I so look forward to sharing Mary Jane with our audiences.”

While the cast, creative team, and opening night date are unknown to the public, Anne Kauffman (The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window) has been revealed as the director of this new show. In the meantime, you can purchase your copy of Mary Jane on Amazon.
