Beyoncé surprises hometown fans by bringing out fellow Houston native Megan Thee Stallion on stage to perform “Savage (Remix)” for the first time in concert.
Beyoncé’s hometown show in Houston was the biggest one yet. As fans and the city prepared to welcome home their star, expectations for the show quickly grew.
Beyoncé performed last Saturday and left the crowd speechless when bringing out rap star Megan Thee Stallion. Audience members quickly grabbed photos and videos of the two up on stage performing the well-known song “Savage (Remix).” Fans even captured a touching moment between the two on stage as Beyoncé exclaimed, “I love you, Queen,” to which Megan replied, “I love you, Beyonce.”
Houston’s hometown concert marked the first time Beyoncé and Megan performed the song together live in concert. Megan surprised the audience when announced as the show’s special guest. Fans could hear Megan singing the song’s opening lines as she walked on stage before greeting her hometown and the crowd.

Megan had previously attended Beyoncé’s Paris show as a fan in the audience alongside the superstar’s husband, Jay-Z. When invited back to perform, Megan dropped out of the lineup for New York City’s Global Citizen Festival.
It’s no secret that Megan is a major fan of Queen Bey and looks up to her and her work ethic. As soon as the artist announced she was pulling out of the festival, some fans were quick to make the connection, and suspicions arose of a possible special appearance.

Megan released “Savage” in March 2020, quickly becoming a huge success. Beyoncé’s remixed version, which dropped last April, helped to push the song even further up in the charts. The duo even managed to score Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance at the 2021 Grammy Awards.
When accepting her award on stage, Megan showed her appreciation toward Beyoncé. Megan expressed her lifelong love for the star and the inspiration she has always been for her. Megan ended her speech with, “Thank you, Beyoncé, for your encouraging words all the time.”
One year ago today, Megan Thee Stallion attended the 63rd Annual Grammys. She became the first female rapper to win ‘Best New Artist’ since Lauryn Hill in 1999.
