New Fabulous Fall Fashion Essential Trends to Follow This Season
There is no better time to address this season’s new fabulous fall fashion essential trends than now.
Between the past few fashion weeks and fall finally coming around, it’s time the summer tube tops return to the Ikea storage bags under the bed. Chances are, there is a lingering dread for what might be waiting in all the fall and winter bags pushed to the side from the previous season. No worries, though! With this season’s timeless trends thriving, there will hardly be any decluttering to do.

To start with, the most prominent trend of this season is a statement without having to say “statement.” Hint: it’s hot, hot, hot. “Red is officially the color trend of 2023. Everyone was wearing it head-to-toe (we even saw red shoes,” states Michaela Bushkin from Who What Wear. “And the momentum isn’t stopping anytime soon,” Bushkin continues. A fiery red attire head-to-toe is the ultimate statement this fall. Think Ferragamo autumn/winter 2023 fashion show. A full red suit so hot it would leave everyone thirsty, even on the coldest fall day.

This next trend can have a bad rap, especially after a certain paleontologist from Friends got caught with his pants down. Thankfully, the fabulous fashion techs found a way to make leather wearable for most daily activities. No baby powder or lotion is necessary. These all-leather looks are the ultimate street style slay. “Everyone from Saint Laurent to Khaite to Brandon Maxwell was showing full leather outfits this season, and I’m so here for it,” states Bushkin.
It’s time to go back to the 90s classics. The minimalist, ever so effortless, 90s chic is back. “There’s an emphasis on clean lines, simple silhouettes, and elevated basics right now,” mentions Bushkin. Gucci’s autumn/winter 2023 collection consisted of an oversized classic trench coat, crisp button-down, baggy denim, and flat shoes.
“Another decade that’s infiltrating this season’s fashion scene is the ’80s, specifically the bold power suits women wore to the office during that era,” notes Bushkin. Alexander McQueen’s full-length pinstripe coat with dramatic shoulders or Saint Laurent’s oversized blazers and form-fitting pencil skirts is an excellent reference.
With so many eras, styles, and silhouettes, this fall season is full of trends for everyone to follow. Even better, there’s a good possibility everyone has at least one of these trends already in their wardrobe.
