Hollywood Stars Show Their Support for Israel After Devastating Hamas Attack
A-list celebrities in Hollywood demonstrate their support for Israel following Hamas’ devastating assault.
Rockets came from Gaza during the peaceful Shabbat hours and the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah. The weapons resulted in the fatalities of nearly 900 people and injured over 100 innocent lives.
One music event was also a target of the attack. After Israeli rescuers arrived, they discovered 260 victims in a terrible and horrifying scene.
When speaking of the weekend’s events, President Joe Biden affirmed his support for Israel’s right to self-defense and condemned the attack. “The United States unequivocally condemns this appalling assault against Israel by Hamas terrorists from Gaza, and I made clear to Prime Minister Netanyahu that we stand ready to offer all appropriate means of support to the Government and people of Israel. Terrorism is never justified,” stated the president. “My Administration’s support for Israel’s security is rock solid and unwavering.”
In response to the situation, Israel initiated a blockade of Gaza on Monday, limiting the region’s access to supplies including food, water, and power. Israel launched airstrikes after the Hamas attack, killing around 500 Palestinians.
As a demonstration of support, Hollywood stars have raised their voices for Israel. Gal Gadot, Madonna, Natalie Portman, Andy Cohen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman, and Kris Jenner have taken to social media, adding their influential voices to standing alongside Israel during these difficult times.
“I stand with Israel you should too,” Gadot posted. The Wonder Woman star, who is Israeli, has been posting daily about Israel being under attack. “The world cannot sit on the fence when these horrific acts of terror are happening!”
Madonna used her platform Instagram to share her support for the tragedy with a powerful video. Heartbreaking scenes of loss appear on the screen to pair with her strong statement. “Watching all of these families and especially children being herded, assaulted, and murdered in the streets is Heartbreaking. “Imagine if this was happening to you??” she wrote in the caption of the post. “My heart goes out to Israel. To Families and Homes that have been destroyed. To children who are lost. To Innocent Victims who have Been Killed. To All who are Suffering or who will suffer from this conflict. I am praying for you. I am aware that this is the work of Hamas and many innocent people in Palestine do not support this terrorist organization. This Tragic attack will only cause more suffering for everyone.”
The NFL has also used its platform to stand in solidarity, condemning terrorism and mourning the lives lost in Israel.
Kris Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, and Kourtney Kardashian took to their Instagram stories, stating a message condemning the attacks in Israel. They denounced Hamas as a violent group and emphasized its attacks on people. Their message conveyed their profound sympathy for the Jewish community, highlighting the suffering brought about by persecution and urging against silence during times.
