Jay Z ends the year-long online debate by suggesting, “You gotta take the money,” during a CBS Mornings Interview with Gayle King.

The Rap Mogul, Jay Z, sat down with Gayle King to address the question, heavily discussed by fans on social media. The long-standing topic has contributed to a divide on social media, with a mix of opinions on whether one would take the money or have a conversation over a meal with the rap icon.

“I wouldn’t tell you to cut a bad deal,” he stated in a sit-down interview clip premiering exclusively on CBS Mornings.

The rapper, also known as Hov, advised against gaining wisdom over lunch with him because “You got all of that in the music for $10.99” if that is what a person is looking for. Most people think taking lunch would be beneficial, but walking away with the cash and soaking up the knowledge in the music would triumph over a casual conversation.

“Take the $500,000; go buy some albums, and listen to the albums. It’s all there,” stated Jay Z. When asked if he would take the money himself, the rapper, without a doubt, mentioned he would take it because “if you piece everything together,” he revealed, referring to what he has done and his journey through life, it’s in the words if one listens closely.

According to BBC, in a video shared on social media, a fan approached the rapper to say he would take the 500k.

“Aye, Hov. I’m taking that 500K. I ain’t taking that dinner, I’m taking that 500K,” a fan revealed.

“The blueprint literally to me and my life and my journey is there already,” stated the rapper. According to Oprah Daily, the two-part interview will air on CBS Mornings on October 26, and October 27.
