Kim Kardashian is thriving as she continues to break the stereotypical standard of men being the breadwinners at home. On Tuesday, she was named one of GQ’s Men of the Year cover stars, along with Jacob Elordi and Travis Scott.

The star donned business attire and more masculine clothing for the cover shoot, showcasing her Skims Men’s collection.

Kim Kardashian, alongside her sisters Kourtney and Khloé, shared with USA Today the significant influence their late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., had on shaping their perspectives on career goals, parenting, and divorce.

Kardashian then discussed her parents’ relationship and explained how she never witnessed her parents arguing and was completely taken aback by their divorce in 1991.

“I was in the bath when they called a family meeting. I distinctly remember hoping, ‘Please, Lord, don’t let them be getting a divorce.’ I never had any indication that it would happen, but I sensed that was the news they were about to deliver. I felt it,” she recalled.

Reflecting on that experience, Kardashian carefully considered how to discuss her divorce from Ye (formerly Kanye West) with their eldest child, North, who is only 10 years old. “I distinctly recall them being honest and open about it,” she mentioned.

In the official interview with GQ Men of the Year, Kardashian emphasized how her late father Robert also played a significant role in her business accomplishments thus far.

Over the years, Robert’s clothing style evolved. Kim remembers his desire to appear stylish, citing a period during her teenage years when she worked at the fashionable Encino clothing store Body.

“Diesel was one of the brands we had. They had these cool wax-coated jeans. My dad’s office was nearby, so he would often drop by. He’d see them and say, ‘I need to have those.’ I bought them for him, and he would pair them with a simple black T-shirt and loafers,” she recalled.

Skims Men’s collection, featuring a variety of items such as tanks, tees, and leggings, positions the company more in line with brands like Nike rather than Spanx. Jens Grede, co-founder of Skims, describes Kim as the Michael Jordan of the influencer generation.
