Zara Launches New Retro Chic Collection With Harry Styles’ Stylist
The new Zara collection, Cutie Chaos, is out as an epic retro chic collaboration with Harry Styles’ stylist.
One of the world’s favorite high-street fashion brands, Zara, has accomplished yet another trendsetting surprise: a new collaboration that is unquestionably sophisticated while also maintaining a defiant aura. This time, it was with celebrity fashion stylist Harry Lambert.
That name may sound familiar, as it should. Lambert is a London-born fashion stylist known for dressing one of the most fashion-forward celebrities, Harry Styles. Lambert’s ability to enamor Styles’ fans by dressing him in traditionally women’s clothing has steadily broken down rigid gender norms in fashion. In doing so, we saw designers like Alessandro Michele adorning Harry Styles in a ruffled Gucci gown with a tailored black blazer.
What’s more, Lambert’s collaboration with Zara embraces the same ideology toward non-gender-specific styling. Each piece is designed to fit any gender style so long as the look you’re going for is nostalgic color palettes ornamented into oversized silhouettes. “Though celebrated for defining the contemporary sartorial zeitgeist, Lambert’s approach often looks back to recontextualize retro pieces with many of his favorite rare finds providing key inspiration for Cutie Chaos,” as stated in Zara’s press release for the collaboration.
The concept behind Zara and Harry Lambert’s designs is new and individualistic, especially for a brand like Zara. Where fast-fashion and one-and-done trendy pieces are standard for the Spanish retail brand, Lambert’s pieces are anything but that. The materials and fibers used for the collaboration are low-impact, meaning the materials and production caused minimal environmental impact. “Lower impact fibers are a cornerstone of this collection in line with Lambert‘s vision for more sustainable products and with Inditex´s sustainability targets,” continued Zara’s press release.
If the nostalgia, inclusivity, and sustainable design foundations don’t capture your attention, then the actual pieces in the collection most definitely will. Dark, warm colors make up an oversized plaid blazer. Underneath, a pop of purple in the form of a crew-neck sweater is layered over a striped button-up. Another design combination includes wide-leg mint-colored pants, a light beige pinstripe button-up, and a chocolate brown collared jacket. The subtle pops of color fused with the timeless shapes and styles make every piece worth looking at. Furthermore, there’s no doubt the pieces would become staples in your wardrobe.
The collection includes 60 non-gender-specific pieces. Lambert’s designs will be listed in both the male and female sections in Zara, online and in-store, and are available to shop now.
