Known for his looks, intelligence, acting skills, and… his looks again. The famous actor made his debut in the comedy-drama series, Shameless, which aired in 2011. He potrayed Philip (Lip) Gallager, the boy genius and badass. Blessed with a photographic memory, the second oldest of the rag-tag family won audiences’ hearts with his humor and relatable nature. Towards the middle of the series, White gave both a heart-breaking and heartwarming performance that left fans wanting more.
This performance was not only memorable but it pushed his acting skills and allowed him to become the actor that we know and love today. Moreover, his latest projects, Iron Claw (2024) and the award-winning series The Bear (2022) have solidified his place as an actor. The show garnered the actor two Golden Globes, his first being in 2023.
Being a Golden Globe winner, talented actor, and humble person put him on many people’s radar, but what really cemented his position as the 2024 IT Boy of the Year (a title that was given to him by adoring fans on Instagram) was the Calvin Klein campaign that exploded the internet. “You don’t own me-” was all that could be heard for weeks when walking down the street, getting coffee at your local cafe, or living anywhere that has internet.
Described as a “Greek God” by The New York Times this ad had everyone shook. “This deserves its own Emmy” a user commented under the Calvin Klein official YouTube channel and we all feel the same way. Billboards in Los Angeles, New York, and London showcased the actor wearing the signature Calvin Klein tighty whities that some claim is “National Landmark” Worthy, another person writing: “Calvin Klein, I sincerely appreciate everything you’re doing for the world, this is the best day of my life and I’m not exaggerating in the slightest. Thank you, I owe you my life.”
Whether you think the pictures should be landmarks or not, hopefully, the actor will continue to feed the masses with his charm.
