Saturday Night Live will reach its 50 anniversary in 2025. The comedic icons Aykroyd, Morris, Chase, and Belushi were crucial for the rise of comedy in television and served as inspirations for generations. Furthermore, several different SNL casts have helped produce more comedic stars like Chris Farley, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Conan O’Brian, Jimmy Fallon, and countless more. The comedic talent on display in 1975 allowed all those comedians to get an opportunity.
O’Brian got his start in the MTV drama Teen Wolf. He also starred alongside Michael Keaton in the 2017 film American Assassin. Additionally, Morris showed off his comedic chops in the hit Fox series New Girl. Smith is known for portraying the Ridler in the Warner Bros. TV series Gotham. Wood has appeared on Law & Order: SVU Instinct but was also a part of the original Broadway cast for SpongeBob SquarePants.
Interesting casting.

VERY interesting casting.
IMHO no one can replace either actor, and this will either be really good or really bad.
The premiere of Saturday Night Live was on October 11, 1975, hosted by famous comedian George Carlin. Furthermore, with the cast coming together along with critically acclaimed director Jason Reitman (Juno, Ghostbusters: Afterlife) attached to the project, SNL 1975 has the potential to be one of the more fascinating films of its year.
You can catch Saturday Night Live every Saturday at 11:30 p.m. Eastern time on NBC or Peacock.
