American Girl Unveils New Disney Doll Collection
American Girl announced the latest additions to their Disney Princess line. Cinderella, Tiana, and Ariel will join the rest of the current collection.

According to People, the iconic toy company started its Disney Princess Collector Doll series last year. It debuted with three characters at first—Jasmine, Rapunzel, and Belle. On February 7, they introduced three more toys to the series. Cinderella, Tiana, and Ariel will join the Disney Princess collection, with more to come.
Per American Girl, the three new dolls are “represented with a beautifully crafted 18-inch doll, and come with an authentically designed signature dress and plenty of fashion accessories. The collection also includes additional highly detailed outfits and several special accessories to further expand the storytelling and play.” Each doll retails for $125.
According to the brand’s website, the Cinderella doll has blue eyes, blonde hair styled in a high bun, and side-swept bangs. She is dressed in her signature blue ball gown and wears a pair of sparkly “glass slippers.”
The Tiana doll, American Girl states, has brown eyes and a high bun of curly black hair with face-framing strands. She wears her iconic green and yellow dress from her film The Princess and the Frog.
Lastly, the Ariel doll is based on the 1989 animated film The Little Mermaid. She has aqua-colored eyes and sports her trademark red hair. Additionally, the doll comes with a purple and teal dress styled after a mermaid tail.
Jamie Cygielman, General Manager of American Girl, recognizes the loyal audiences that both this company and Disney have. “Now, we’re making dreams come true with a magical collection of timeless characters that will captivate our fans and send their imaginations soaring,” she stated after the collection’s launch. Rob Michaelis, Disney’s vice president of North America Brand Commercialization, Hardlines & Consumables, also discussed the collection in a press release. “The talented teams at American Girl and Disney are so proud of the incredible details in this new expanded line of Disney Princess inspired dolls, which provide an authentic representation of Disney’s beloved characters.”
