Anne Hathaway stuns on the cover of the new issue of Vanity Fair. For the editorial, Hathaway talks about past projects and her outlook on her life and career. 

Hathaway speaks about her life since entering the film industry for Vanity Fair. She gets candid about what life has been like navigating the industry as an actress and mother. She explains, “This is the first time I’ve known myself this well. I don’t live in what others think of me. I know my own mind and I am connected to my own feelings.” Clearly, this mindset is evident in her work as an actress and her view on life. 

Anne Hathaway is known for starring in many beloved films. Some of these films include The Princess Diaries, The Dark Knight Rises, Les Misérables, and The Devil Wears Prada. Additionally, Hathaway will be starring in the upcoming film The Idea of You. Hathaway has unquestionably enjoyed exploring different genres throughout her acting career. 

Life as an actress is important for Hathaway. In The Devil Wears Prada actress explains how she is passionate about the characters she portrays. She talks about altering her appearance for her role as Fantine in her Oscar-winning performance, Les Misérables. Moreover, she also requested to do over twenty takes for the song “I Dreamed a Dream,” contrary to being told her fourth take was perfect. Hathaway tells the publication, “The truth is that you let go. You black out a little bit. You come up at the end and you’re like, ‘What just happened?’” Essentially, Hathaway emphasizes how important these roles are for her.

In addition, her passion about her roles is noticeable amongst her co-stars. Michael Showalter, the creator of her new film The Idea of You, explained in the interview that she pays close attention to detail, even describing the actress as “fiery.” Furthermore, the Interstellar actress goes on to mention that she deeply focuses on combating any potential nerves or anxiety that may occur when taking on a new role. 

When discussing her outlook on fame, the actress mentions that she learned many lessons, such as being gracious, from her co-star, Julie Andrews, while on the set of The Princess Diaries (2001). She even describes her takeaways. “I’ve learned that I want to handle myself in a way that I’m going to be proud of at a later date.” Hathaway takes this approach in her roles and life in general.
