Jeremy Allen White is confirmed to star as Bruce Springsteen in a new biopic centered around his music, Deliver Me From Nowhere.

This exciting news is a huge win for music lovers, especially for the fans of New Jersey singer Springsteen and White, who many call the new “It boy.” The Emmy-winning actor will portray Springsteen as he navigates a pivotal part of his life and becomes a global superstar.

The film will be adapted from the book Deliver Me From Nowhere, written by Warren Zane. It will take place in 1982 and follow the process of Springsteen writing and recording what many believe is one of the best albums of all time, Nebraska.

Springsteen is a huge influence for many, with his music helping people. In Nebraska, a lot of the songs he wrote reflected what he was going through in life during that time, which was why the album was very dark. While he was recording “Born in the U.S.A.” with the E Street Band, he was also sitting alone in a house in New Jersey that he rented, working on songs for Nebraska using a 4-track recorder without the intent of even releasing them to the public.

White is known best for his role as Chef Carmen in The Bear. The Hulu series has dominated television and awards this past year, winning 10 Emmy Awards in 2023. The Iron Claw actor also took home the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, in addition to his costar Ayo Edibiri taking home Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Moreover, White also won 2 Golden Globe Awards for his performance as well.

The Bear actor can also be seen in the popular drama series Shameless as his character Lip Gallagher, Kerry Von Erich in the sports thriller film The Iron Claw, and the romantic comedy After Everything as Elliot.

Scott Cooper is set to write and direct the film. Additionally, 20th Century Studios will finance and handle the film’s release. Cooper will produce the film, partnering with Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Eric Robinson. Springsteen and his manager Jon Landau will also be working on the film.

David Greenbaum, president of 20th Century Studios and Disney Live Action stated “It is a once-in-a-lifetime honor to be collaborating with Bruce Springsteen, an inspiring and incomparable artist who represents so much to so many.” Greenbaum also expressed his gratefulness for working alongside Cooper, “The deep authenticity of his story is in great hands with my friend Scott Cooper whom I am thrilled to be collaborating with once again.”

Goldsmith-Vein and Robinson wrote in a joint statement, “We knew there was only one filmmaker who could translate this story to cinema with verve and poetry, and that was Scott Cooper. Bruce Springsteen is the cultural chronicler for several generations, and through his art, he’s contributed so much to our understanding of the human journey.”

Fans are sharing their excitement on social media for the talented actor, sending him support for his upcoming role.

White will finish shooting season 4 of The Bear in June, and have a few months off from filming before going into production for the new biopic confirmed to begin this fall.
